Thomas "Country Tom" Lesetmoe, 50, of Bemidji, died on Thursday, March 9, 2006, at his home.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji with the Rev. Dean Nelson officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the spring in Calvary Cemetery.

He was born on Nov. 2, 1955, to Lyle and Shirley (Moss) Lesetmoe, in Bemidji. He grew up and attended school in Bemidji.

He married Connie Loktu on April 19, 1980, in Bemidji. They lived in Bemidji, where they raised a family of four children. He worked in carpentry. He married Shelly Olding on Aug. 16, 1991, in Wilkinson, Minn. They made their home in Cass Lake.

He was a musician since the age of 16. He wrote songs and played in various local bands. His own band was Tom and the Cats. For the past 17 years he worked in maintenance, construction and playing with the Last Call Band at MJ's Saloon in Bemidji. He enjoyed carpentry work, building furniture and his cat.

He is survived by his father, of Bemidji; sisters, Jeannie (Larry) Jordet of Bemidji and Tamera Lesetmoe of Duluth, Minn.; brothers, Lyle (Patty) Lesetmoe of Bemidji and Dick Lesetmoe of Duluth; daughters, Beth Lesetmoe of San Diego, Calif., Amy Lesetmoe of Breckenridge, Minn., and Jessica Mellema of Cass Lake; sons, Jason Lesetmoe of St. Cloud, Ryan (Marissia) Lesetmoe of Arizona, Josh (Rose) Mellema of Cass Lake and Jake (Lisa) Mellema of Bemidji; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
