A Backus man was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale after suffering multiple stab wounds Saturday night, according to a press release from the Cass County Sheriff's Office.
Shortly after 8 p.m., officers were called to a residence in rural Backus where a fight had allegedly occurred. Officers learned that the victim, Shawn Lesher, 31, of Backus, had sustained multiple stab wounds.
According to the press release, the suspect is 21-year-old Dane Riley, also known as Dane Brogle, address unknown. Riley left the area before officers arrived and is currently being sought by law enforcement.
Lesher remained hospitalized in fair condition as of Monday afternoon.
