The Bemidji area remains in a winter weather advisory until 6 p.m. as a storm continues to cause problems throughout the state.
The weather service said snow totals won't be as much as previously expected, but some areas could still receive 6 to 8 inches, with a sharp difference between the northern and southern stretches of the affected area.
Snow and winds are expected to still impact travel, but conditions will gradually improve by afternoon.

Today: Snow. High near 31. Northeast wind between 9 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
