In a memo from the state's Department of Natural Resources, Greg Vollhaber of the forestry division said burning permits are allowed for southern Beltrami, northern Cass, Clearwater, Mahnomen and eastern Polk counties.

In addition to the regular permits, variances for all day fires will be allowed.
