The Sanford Bemidji Clinic will host a free varicose vein screening from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at its Main Clinic, 1233 34th St. NW.

The screening will be held to raise awareness of venous disease, risk factors, prevention and available treatment options. Women ages 40-49 and men ages 70-79 are most likely to develop varicose veins. Common risk factors include multiple pregnancies, family history, obesity and standing professions.
