Saiger named this year’s Sankta Lucia

BEMIDJI -- Taylor Saiger, a senior at Bemidji High School, has been selected as this year's Sankta Lucia by the Bemidji American Swedish Institute, a release said.

BEMIDJI -- Taylor Saiger, a senior at Bemidji High School, has been selected as this year's Sankta Lucia by the Bemidji American Swedish Institute, a release said.

Saiger has been participating in the Sankta Lucia Fest for 12 years, starting in the Tomte choir, then as the apple girl and most recently as an attendant to Sankta Lucia.

Saiger is on the BHS swimming and diving team and in her spare time works at both Dairy Queen locations in Bemidji, the release said.

She will preside over the 42nd Annual Sankta Lucia Fest, which will be held Dec. 13 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2508 Washington Ave. S, Bemidji.

Doors will open at 5:30 a.m. for a breakfast. The program will begin at 6 a.m. with the procession of Lucia and her attendants.
