Ruth Gua, 69, of Seattle, Wash., formerly of Bemidji, died on Thursday, April 19, 2007, at her home.

She was born on Dec. 29, 1937, to Frank and Martha (Sand) Jackson, in Bemidji. She was the youngest of a family of 16 children. She grew up in Bemidji and attended Carr Lake School and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1954. She moved to Seattle in the fall of 1955 and began working at Boeing and returned to work at Boeing after her four children were adults. She married Don Gua in June 1957. He died in December 1999.

She had a buoyant, vibrant personality and enjoyed traveling and had maintained friends from grade school days.

She is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Neal) Schmidt; sons, Todd (Ophelia) Gua of Issaquah, Wash., Brad (Cindy) Gua of Renton, Wash., and Troy (fiancé Cathryn) Gua of Seattle; three grandchildren; brother, Jim Jackson of Woodbury, Minn.; sisters, Doris Sandberg of Kearney, Neb., Helen Hall of Bemidji, Jeanette Bliss of Calabasas, Calif., and Florence Humann of Edmonds, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Warren, Harris, Harold, Ted, Roy, Floyd, Melvin, Mark and Edwin; and sister, Marian.
