Ruth Ella Stahl, 86, of Bemidji, died on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at Neilson Place in Bemidji.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Bemidji with Rev. Stan Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Bemidji. The Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home of Bemidji assisted the family with arrangements.
Pallbearers will be her great- grandchildren, Paul Nelson, Jeremy Fogelson, Michael Fogelson, Scott Fogelson, Ryan Marty, Joshua Pomerleau, Joel Pomerleau, Nicholas Rodolosi and Jason Green.
She was born on Aug. 5, 1920, to William and Emma (Eichstadt) Haberle, in Frohn Township, Beltrami County. She grew up on a farm east of Bemidji. Her one room school and childhood church was located on the corner of Mill Street and Sunnyside Road. She married Otto Stahl on Feb. 21, 1938, in Bemidji. Over the years, they owned and operated several business in the Bemidji area. They lived in Bemidji her entire life except for eight years they lived in Gonvick. They retired and lived east of Bemidji and after the death of her husband she moved into Bemidji.
She enjoyed her friends and spent many hours playing cards with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For years, her family met on Fridays for breakfast at a local restaurant which she enjoyed. She was active until her final illness.

She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Marty of Bemidji, Carol Anderson of Bemidji and Pat (Ray) Rucinski of Becida; son, Jim (Kathy) Stahl of McCallen, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Hilda (Tom) Pierskalla of Wabasha, Minn., Eleanor Schmidt of Bemidji and Lucille Eichstadt of Alvin, Texas; and a step-daughter-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six sisters, four brothers, two step-sons, two granddaughters, one grandson and two great-grandsons.
