Robert Danks, 73, of Bagley, died on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, N.D.
A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley with Rev. Don Winters officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Flag presentation will be by members of the Irvin Blix American Legion Post No. 16 of Bagley. Burial will be in the spring in Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji.
He was born on Aug. 21, 1933, to Bert and Margaret Danks in Clearbrook. He grew up in Clearbrook and attended District 73 country school and Clearbrook High School.
He enlisted in the United States Army in 1953 and was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1955. He moved to Washington where he worked in the apple orchards for many years. He moved to Bagley in 2004 and resided at Parkview Apartments. Since May 2006, he has resided at Greensview Health Care Center in Bagley.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane O'Connor; sister, Kathleen (Leonard) Stinar of Bagley; half-brother, Harold (June) Danks of Silverdale, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews.
