Val Ahrens, treasurer of Ride for the Troops, presents Scotty Allison, veterans service officer of Beltrami County, a $10,000 check for the Veterans Home in Bemidji.
Donations for the home will be matched 2-to-1 by the federal government. Donations, which can be dropped off at the Veterans Service Office, "would be greatly appreciated to help make this happen for our veterans," a press release said. The 2-to-1 match goes until March.
