Leonard worked in various logging camps in Northern Minnesota as a piece cutter. After losing his left leg in a hit and run accident in the late 1960's, he was delivered from alcohol by accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loved his wife, his seven children and his two granddaughters and took an active interest in each of their lives. He loved the people he served and the pastors with whom he served. He loved to visit people and share God's Word whenever he could.
