BEMIDJI -- The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe and the Red Lake Band of Chippewa will hold a tribal flag-raising ceremony at the Beltrami County courthouse.
The event is at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 24 in courtroom one of the Beltrami County Judicial Center, 600 Minnesota Ave. NW.
The public is welcome to join both the tribal nations and the courts as the Leech Lake and Red Lake flags join the United States and Minnesota flags in all four courtrooms.
Eyabay Singers will open the ceremony along with spiritual advisor Larry Aitken. Judges Paul Benshoof and Shari Schluchter, Leech Lake Tribal Chair Carri Jones and Red Lake Secretary
Don Cook will speak and spiritual advisor Greeting Spears will close the ceremony.
