Sheriff's Report
The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to the following reports:
Theft
7:29 a.m. Friday, 18000 block of Gull Lake Loop Road Northeast, Tenstrike. A snowmobile was reported stolen. The vehicle is a 1995 Polaris XLT, teal and dark blue, with purple seat covers.
Vehicle fire
4:03 a.m. Friday, Highway 89 Northwest and Lumberjack Road Northeast. Officers found a 1991 Chevrolet Suburban engulfed in flames on the shoulder of Highway 89. The vehicle's gas cap was missing. Tire tracks were observed and it appeared someone had tried to tow the vehicle. An earlier caller had reported seeing the vehicle on the side of the road at 2:46 a.m. Another person reported seeing the vehicle intact with a rag stuffed in the gas tank at about 3:30 a.m., with no one nearby and no signs of fire. The Suburban was towed to the county impound lot and a report was forwarded to the investigator to determine the origin of the fire and whether arson was indicated.

State Patrol Report
Personal-injury accident
1:24 p.m. Friday, Highway 71, Blackduck. John Philip Pope, 67, of Northome, driving a 1999 Buick Regal, was eastbound on County Road 30 and crossed Highway 71 in the path of a northbound 2004 Dodge pickup driven by Wade Anthony Kish, 35, of Becker, Minn. Kish's pickup struck Pope's car in the passenger door. Pope's passenger, Joan Iris Pope, 72, was taken to North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji, where she was treated and released.
