6:57 p.m. Thursday, 1800 block of Paul Bunyan Drive Northwest. Alexander Palache Gutterman of Keene, N.H., was holding his 3-year-old daughter, Soren Helga Hedegaard, as he walked through a parking lot when he was hit by a 2000 Chevy pickup driven by John William Schoenfeld, 34, of Bemidji. Gutterman and the child fell to the ground. Gutterman was not injured, but he requested that medical personnel check out Soren because she complained that her head hurt. An ambulance crew arrived and tended to the girl, who was not transported to the hospital.
Fire report
The Bemidji Fire Department responded to the following calls:
2:57 p.m. Thursday, 8600 block of White Oak Street Northeast. Fire alarm. It was unfounded.
6:45 a.m. Friday, Carr Lake Road and Monroe Avenue South. A passer-by reported a gas smell. Firefighters went to the area and determined that the call was unfounded.
