The Bemidji Police Department responded to the following calls:
Theft
7:23 a.m. Monday, 2000 block of Paul Bunyan Drive Northwest. A woman reported the theft of a purse and its contents. She said that at approximately 3 p.m. on Sunday, she was unloading her shopping cart into her vehicle when she turned around and noticed her purse was missing from the cart. It is described as a brown leather purse and it contained two checkbooks, identification cards, two credit cards, miscellaneous paperwork and $20 in cash.

Fire report
The Bemidji Fire Department responded to the following calls:
4:51 p.m. Monday, 2500 block of Ridgeway Avenue. Medical call.
7:49 p.m. Monday, 4400 block of Elliot Road. Firefighters responded to a complaint of a large attended slash pile burning on a vacant lot near a residence. Firefighters extinguished the fire.
7:25 a.m. Tuesday, Jack's Stop. Firefighters were called to a spill of approximately five gallons of diesel fuel. According to Interim Fire Captain Dick Sathers, the state duty officer was contacted and it was decided that the gas station staff was permitted to clean up the spill themselves.
