The Bemidji Police Department responded to the following calls:

Fight

2:08 a.m. Tuesday, Mississippi Avenue Northwest and Eighth Street Northwest. Officers were called to a fight in the street. A 19-year-old woman said she was attacked by two women who accused her of stealing. Witnesses confirmed her story. The woman was taken to North Country Regional Hospital, where she was treated for bumps and bruises. Information has been referred to the Beltrami Country Attorney's Office for possible charges.

2:29 a.m. Tuesday, 900 block of 26th Street Northwest. Officers were called to investigate a fight. At the scene, they saw four men outside. The men said that another man came out of his apartment and punched one of them. Officers arrested two of the men - one for violating a no-drink order and the other for an outstanding warrant and disorderly conduct. The other men were not arrested.

Personal injury accident

6:50 p.m. Tuesday, 4100 block of Woodberry Drive Southeast. Edgar Espe, 53, of Bemidji, was driving a 1995 Dodge Dakota when he reportedly saw a child on a sled coming out onto the road from a driveway. He said he swerved to miss the child, but heard a thump that was likely caused by the child sliding into the vehicle. Espe stopped and saw the child, 10-year-old Lance Weiss, in the roadway. Weiss complained that his knees hurt and there was a small cut on his hand, but that he was otherwise unharmed. He was transported to North Country Regional Hospital by a private vehicle.
