Disturbing the peace

1:12 a.m. Friday, 300 block of Minnesota Avenue Northwest. A fight between two men was reported in front of the U Bar, but when officers arrived they were told that the men had already departed in separate vehicles.
2:09 a.m. Friday, 200 block of Third Street Northwest. A man reported the theft of a white 1992 Mercury Tracer with the license plate number PEN884. The vehicle has some rust on the doors and fenders and is valued at $600. Inside the car was a pool cue valued at $50, $4 in change and a Bible. The man said he had been playing pool at Breakers Billiards and had parked the vehicle on Third Street. He said he left with a friend at 10:30 p.m. and returned at 2 a.m. to find the vehicle missing. The man told officers the vehicle had been unlocked and the key had been in the ignition or in the ashtray.
8:16 a.m. Friday, 700 block of Minnesota Avenue Northwest. A man reported that $750 worth of stereo equipment had been stolen from a 1993 Subaru Impreza parked at his house since 5 p.m. the previous evening. At 8 a.m. Friday he noticed the doors were slightly ajar and the trunk was open. Missing are two MTX 12-inch speakers in a black Roadmaster box, valued at $350; a red and clear 150-watt amplifier, valued at $200; and two 6x9 Pioneer speakers, valued at $200. An Alpine CD player was damaged in an apparent attempt to remove the player.

4:35 p.m. Friday, Cenex South. Someone drove a gold 1994 Cadillac from the gas station without paying for gas.
The Bemidji Fire Department investigated the following reports:
4:03 p.m. Friday, First Street and Wood Avenue Southeast. Firefighters put out a small brush fire that was started by dumping hot ashes. The fire was quickly contained.
11:36 a.m. Saturday, Wal-Mart parking lot. A pumper truck and six firefighters responded to a car fire. The car was totaled. The cause of the fire is unknown.
