The Grand Rapids Thunderhawks closed out the year for Bemidji's girls basketball team, scoring a 55-48 victory on their home court.
It reversed a 55-54 Bemidji win in December and dropped the team to 8-17. The Rapids closed 16-9.
It was another poor shooting night for the cagers who fell behind 32-19 at the half.
They managed to cut the margin to five points late in the game before two turnovers and several missed buckets allowed the Rapids to move ahead to stay.
Jessica Butler led 10 Hawks in the scoring column with 14.

Lexi Gauwitz had 11 to pace Bemidji with Meg Claypool, Ashley Erickson and Brianna Pfremmer each adding eight.
Bemidji expects to know the section seeding today or tomorrow and is hoping to meet Brainerd in its opener.
On a happier note, the Flying Frosh closed a perfect season with a 54-44 victory, only the second time this year they had not won by more than 10 points, The other was a 36-26 win over the Rapids at Bemidji.
Caitlin Gangelhoff matched her season high with 17. Kayla Hirt had 13 and Selina Gilbertson and Kelsey Heisler 8.
