Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College President Jon Quistgaard will meet with employees at 4 p.m. today to discuss plans for dealing with budget cuts.
According to Jim Monroe, executive director of the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees, Gov. Tim Pawlenty's two-year state budget would require BSU to cut $5 million by 2010 -- that is, $3 million next year and $1 million each in 2009 and 2010.
Following the meeting with employees this afternoon, Quistgaard will hold a media session to report on the impact of the governor's budget and how BSU will fare in light of the expected cuts.
