Robert James Budreau, 30, entered his plea before Judge John M. Roue. An April 9 pretrial hearing was set.

Eric Lee Budreau, 23, and David Arthur LaRose, 20, pleaded innocent Oct. 23 in Cass County District Court to felony first-degree assault. Eric Budreau currently is scheduled for a Feb. 27 jury trial. LaRose is scheduled for a March 12 pretrial hearing.

Roy was treated at the Cass Lake Hospital for severe head injuries Sept. 20. He could not breathe and went unconscious before being flown to a hospital in Fargo, N. D., according to court complaints filed against the defendants.

Roy suffered facial fractures, a concussion, lung contusion and required ventilation to breathe, the complaints indicate. He reportedly identified his assailants to officers.
