John Williams submitted these photos taken from Paul Bunyan Park eight minutes before sunrise on Monday, Nov. 22, over Lake Bemidji. Only lasting a couple of minutes, a vertical red streak called a sun pillar was seen as the sunlight hit ice crystals in the sky.
