DETROIT LAKES -- Joseph Starblanket Martin, 32, of Osage, Minn., has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime.
According to court records, on Aug. 21 a Detroit Lakes police officer pulled him over on Frazee Street after noticing his rear license plate was covered in dirt and was unreadable, and there was an item hanging from his rear-view mirror.
The officer smelled marijuana while talking to the driver, and Martin allegedly indicated his passenger had a bullet and might have a gun.
Based on that information, the passenger was asked to exit the car.
Officers later found a baggie in the driver’s side door containing what appeared to be marijuana and labeled “Old Grand Dad Huckleberry.”
