The Minnesota State Highway Patrol reports that one person was killed Saturday afternoon in a two-car head-on collision south of Bemidji.
The accident occurred at 2 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and Hubbard County Road 9, about six miles south of Bemidji.
According to the accident report, a vehicle headed north on Highway 71 attempted to turn left onto County Road 9, hitting a vehicle headed south on Highway 71.
The drivers of the vehicles both sustained minor injuries, but a passenger in one of the vehicles was killed. The name of the victim was being held until relatives could be notified.
