Forum Communications Co. announces the launch of four new media products for Northland Outdoors, a brand focused on outdoor sports, recreation and living in the Upper Midwest. The new Northland Outdoors website, magazine, TV show and radio program will cover a range of outdoor topics, from hunting and fishing to camping and kayaking.
"There's a lot of enthusiasm for outdoors in our region,” said Mary Jo Hotzler, FCC vice president of content. “Forum Communications is well-positioned to bring readers and viewers the absolute best outdoors coverage - news and entertainment - in whatever media format they are seeking."
The website, Northlandoutdoors.com , is visually inviting and mobile-friendly, featuring news, photos and features, updated daily. The content is a collaboration of Forum Communications writers, Northland Outdoors staff and brand partners, as well as a community of contributing anglers, hunters, guides and outdoor enthusiasts.
Northland Outdoors magazine will launch its first edition in February 2016. The glossy publication will publish quarterly and is free to Forum Communications Co. newspaper subscribers and anyone interested in receiving the magazine. Following the magazine premiere, Northland Outdoors TV will air regionally starting in July 2016. Bret “T-Bone” Amundson, who was the previous owner of Minnesota Sporting Journal magazine and radio show, will host the outdoor entertainment series.
Minnesota Sporting Journal Radio will become Northland Outdoors Radio starting Dec. 5. Amundson will continue to host the program.
Northland Outdoors is based in Brainerd, Minn., and made up of five full-time employees, including Amundson, General Manager Tim Bogenschutz, National Sales Manager Greg Kaiser, Content Director Brian Peterson and Digital Media Coordinator Becca Clemens.
“We are fortunate to have assembled a very talented team, one with extensive outdoor experience,” Bogenschutz said. “They are all excited about being a part of the development of this content. We have a lot to offer the outdoor industry and the outdoor enthusiasts.”
