Abigail Merschman, 9, of Bemidji, was the winner of a karaoke contest at the Kickin' Up Kountry Music Festival Sept. 4 in Thief River Falls.

She sang "Hoedown Throwdown," by Miley Cyrus, to win the title of Lil' Kicker of 2009. She was also asked to perform again Sept. 6.

Abigail is the daughter of Amy Boe and Bill Merschman of Bemidji.
