The Kelliher-Northome Mustangs kicked off their season with a double-header against Nevis April 19 in Kelliher.
The Mustangs won the first game 16-3. Ray Schuh went four-for-four and scored three runs. Nick Tichy and Alex Gehlert were each three-for-four and score two run apiece. Joe Johnsrud pitched all five innings, allowing just one hit. The Mustangs lost the second game 13-11.
April 21, the Mustangs traveled to Cass Lakes to take on the Panthers. The Mustangs were off to a good start when the game was called due to rain. The score was 3-1 and the two teams will finish the game May 20, when the Panthers come to Kelliher.
April 22, the Mustangs traveled to Waubun to play another double-header. In game one, the Mustangs lost 7-6. Tom Persons was two-for-three including a nice double to the fence. Dylan Ungerecht and Evan Nelson were also two-for-three. Both scored once. In game two, the Mustangs lost 11-0.
April 24, the Mustangs traveled to Pine River for yet another double-header.
