PARK RAPIDS, Minn. — A pedestrian walking along a highway near Park Rapids suffered a life-threatening head injury apparently when a vehicle struck her before driving off, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The incident was reported about 9:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, along Minnesota Highway 34 east of Park Rapids in Henrietta Township in Hubbard County.
Alice Ann Blue Thunder, 41, of Park Rapids, was walking east on Highway 34 when the vehicle hit her, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
It "appears she was struck by an unknown vehicle and unknown suspect," the State Patrol said in a statement.
Blue Thunder was found on the north side of Highway 34, laying half in the traffic lane, the patrol said. Road conditions were wet at the time.

Medics flew her to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, the patrol said.
