Minneapolis woman in custody in connection to Cass Lake shooting

A 20-year-old Minneapolis woman was taken into custody Sunday in Cass County and is being held in connection to a shooting that wounded Leonard F. Boyd.

A 20-year-old Minneapolis woman was taken into custody Sunday in Cass County and is being held in connection to a shooting that wounded Leonard F. Boyd.

The 19-year-old man was taken to a Fargo hospital after authorities discovered him suffering from a gunshot wound to the head inside a rural Cass Lake residence around 6:45 a.m. Sunday, according to a report from the Cass County Sheriff's Office.

On Tuesday, Boyd, who has no known address, was listed in critical condition, according to Cass County Sheriff Randy Fisher.

Fisher would not divulge what the woman in custody was being charged with, but he said investigators believe she was with the gunman at the time of the shooting.
