Milo Francis Hanks, 74, of Kelliher, died on Friday, March 10, 2006, at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Old High School Gym in Kelliher with the Rev. Curtis Paulson officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service today at the school. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Kelliher.
Pallbearers will be Trent Hanks, Travis Hanks, Troy Hanks, Barney Schuh, Ross Rennemo and Gerit Hanson.
Honorary pallbearers will be the other grandchildren and his friends.
The Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck assisted the family with arrangements.

He was born on Dec. 17, 1931, to Art and Jenny Hanks at their homestead in Battle River Township. He attended school in Saum through the eighth grade. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 with the 27th Infantry Regiment in Korea. On May 28, 1955, he married Edith Catherine Gieser from Northome. They lived in Battle River Township. He farmed, worked in the woods and did mechanic work. They moved south of Kelliher in May 1983. He then went into logging and also still did mechanic work. He retired in 1997.
He enjoyed dancing, gardening, playing cards, visiting and being around his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife; his children, Johnnie of Gully, Glen (Tamie) of Saum, Wayne (Tracy) of Anoka, Jane (Barney) of Kelliher and Joan (Erik) of Kelliher; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Katie Krueth of Kelliher; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Evelyn; and two brothers, Russell and Ernest.
