COLD SPRING, Minn. -- One man is dead and another seriously injured after a car rear-ended a dump truck that was waiting to make a left turn.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Jared M. Haglund, 23, of Isle, was driving a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville eastbound on Minnesota Highway 23 where he ran into a dump truck turning north onto Stearns County Road 12 on Monday night. Haglund died from injuries, while his passenger, Logan C. Hebeisen, 21, also of Isle, sustained serious injuries. Hebeisen was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital by ambulance.
The driver of the 1998 Ford dump truck, Gary N. Hemmesch, 41, of Richmond, Minn., was not injured in the crash.
