Marvin "Marv" Edelbach, 68, of Bagley, died Saturday, March 15, 2008, suddenly at his home.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley with the Rev. Rick Moore officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
He was born April 1, 1939, to Melvin and Wilma Edelbach at the family farm home in Waumandee, Wis. He attended Cochrane Schools. The family later moved to the Kellogg, Minn., area. He headed Chicago as a young man and developed his first career as a mushroom farmer. He pursued this for the next 20 years. During his time in the Chicago area, he met his future wife, Karen Lute, who was from northwestern Indiana. They met at church and were married in 1971. He and his wife always believed God had brought them together. They were married for 37 years.
Eventually they ended up in the state of Washington, where he spent the next 20 years as a petroleum technician. He retired in 2000, and he and his wife settled in northern Minnesota to be near their daughter and her family who reside in Clearbrook.
He loved to travel, spend time with his family, and working on building projects. At the time of death, he was in the process of building a home in Bagley. He often shared his many talents and knowledge with others.

He is survived by his wife of Bagley; daughter, Tresa (Dean) Knutson of Clearbrook; four grandchildren; brothers, Loren (Ellen) Edelbach of Big Sandy, Texas, Russell (Wilma) Edelbach of Hayfield, Melvin Jr. (Sharon) Edelbach of Kellogg and Bill (Pat) Edelbach of Kellogg; sisters, Ellen (Loren) Amy of Dennison, Dawn (Walter) Korb of St. Helens, Ore., and Shirley (Karl) Heitman of Fredonia, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jesse and Kenny Edelbach; and sister, Ivy Meier.
