Marguerite Claire Lucy, 89, of Sauk Rapids, Minn., formerly of Blackduck, died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at The Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church in Blackduck with Rev. Dean Oelfke officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Blackduck. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck assisted the family with arrangements.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Helping Hand Club of Hornet Township.
Pallbearers will be Scott Lucy, Roger Lucy, Michel Smith, K.C. Burgoon, Kirk Keeney and Tim Carrigan.
She was born on Aug. 30, 1916, to Bert and Gertrude (Moss) Lewis, in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1937. She married Roger Michael Lucy on July 1, 1937, in Papillion, Neb. From 1937-1940, they lived in Papillion, Chicago, Ill. and Missouri Valley. From 1940-1947, they lived in Aitkin, Minn., Delano, Minn. and Lincoln, Neb. They moved to Blackduck in 1947.

She sewed loons for a number of years for the Lady Slipper Designs Outlet Store in Bemidji. She was an musician and an singer. She played the violin in the high school orchestra and taught others how to play the violin through the years. She was an equestrian and enjoyed all animals, especially dogs. She was artistic. She enjoyed going camping, fishing and hunting. She enjoyed going to bluegrass festivals and staying up until the wee hours. She was a member and past president of the Helping Hand Club, of Hornet Township, was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Blackduck and sang in the church choir.
She is survived by her husband of Blackduck; children, Pat (Ed) Good of Independence, Mo., Michael (Marlys) Lucy of Fergus Falls, Minn., Suzanne (Jim) Howlett of Independence, Mo., Tom Lucy of Staples, Minn., Ken (Laurie) Lucy of Sartell, Minn., Laura (Mike) Smith of Anchorage, Alaska and Monica Lucy of Grand Marais, Minn.; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Harland (Clara) Lewis of Iowa; and sisters, Irene Morrow of Iowa and Virginia (Ray) Roark of Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Drexel Lewis; sister, Louise Hufferd; and two brothers-in-law.
