ALONG THE GUNFLINT TRAIL, Minn. -- The main building of a well-known lodge along the Gunflint Trail in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area has been destroyed by fire.

The owner of the Hungry Jack Lodge says he hopes to rebuild the structure. Owner Forrest Parson says the fire spared the resort's 14 cabins -- and the resort is staying open.

Parson lived in the main building and lost most of his belongings in the Wednesday fire. He says he saved some photos and some of his father's items.

It's the third time the resort's lodge has been destroyed by fire. The first fire happened in 1931, the second in 1972.

Officials are still investigating the cause of this blaze.
