The Bemidji High track teams get in an unexpected meet tomorrow when they compete in a hastily arranged BSU Invitational at the Gillett Rec Center.
The inability of teams to open outdoors last week due to the late snowstorm brought about the offer by BSU to stage its fifth indoor meet of the year.
Should weather conditions be favorable, as they appear to be, several events could s be shifted to the stadium track such as the 3200 and discus.
Action will begin at 3 with the 4 x 8 relay, the girls high jump and shot and boys pole vault and long jump.
Only Bagley, Clearbrook and Coleraine-Greenway have indicated they will join Bemidji.
The meet will serve as a final warm up for Bemidji for Friday's key Moorhead Invitational where Bemidji will meet many of its top section rivals for the first time.
It will also give coaches John Deden and Chris Lehman a chance to insert other runners into the starting cast or shake up their relays to test the results.
Neither team has run since the Little Amik-II April 3 with the outdoor triangular at Fergus Falls and the invitational at Sartell last week both shifted to different dates making it impossible for Bemidji to compete in either.
With the small field, the meet will run without preliminaries in the 55 and hurdles and long and triple jumpers limited to three jumps. No 3200 was listed.
Deden will go with Corey Hiller and Casey Orgon in the 55, John Wyllie, Max Duzan, Evan Parrott and Pete Humeniuk in the 200 and Parrott, Waylon Manske, Derek Smith and Robbie Jenson in the 400.
The 800 will have Brian Murphy, Dylan Russell and Humeniuk with Jared Davis, Andrew Papke-Larson, Zac Oelrich, Scott Nordquist and Chris Bowman in the 1600.
The hurdlers are Erik Jacobson, Justin Hunt and Grant Stevens.
The relays match Hiller, John Thompson, John Walberg and Orgon in the 4 x 2, Jake Sorby, Jenson, Manske and Smith in the 4 x 4 and Smith, Manske, Sorby and Jenson in the 4 x 8.
In the field, Kyle Nohre, Tyler Phillips and Derek Davis will high jump. Walberg, Thompson, Jacobson, Levi Harr, Gentri Jordan, Jake Robinson and Max Roszkowski will long jump and Trace Jahner, Thompson and Walberg will triple jump.
The pole vaulters are Tristan Dockendorf, Luke Bruns and Alex Muller with Orgon, Kyle and Wes Mason, Andrew Cable, Chris Rust, Bjorn Eide and McClellan putting the shot.
The girls lineup was not available.
