Lorraine Doris Brown, 79, of Bemidji, died on Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Neilson Place in Bemidji.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji with the Maj. Eugene Harris and Capt. Carmon Harris of the Salvation Army officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, Minn.
Pallbearers will be Jerome Callahan, James Whistler, Daniel Ilstrup, William Anderson, Shawn Whistler, Christopher Ilstrup, Bruce Olson and Larry St. Peter.
She was born on July 27, 1926, to Alvin and Inga (Paulson) Callahan in Ayr, N.D. She moved to Brainerd where she grew up and graduated from high school. After graduation, she moved to St. Paul and married Lloyd Brown on Sept. 18, 1948. They made their home in Elk River and she was primarily a homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. In 1995, she moved with her husband to Bemidji, where she lived until her death.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan (James) Brown-Whistler of Pine City, Minn., Vicki (Dan) Ilstrup of Bemidji, Linda Jo Brown (Ken Ahlbom) of Bemidji and Janice K. Brown (Bill Anderson) of Bemidji; four grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Everett) Turnbull of Hastings, Minn., Carmon (Eugene) Harris of Brainerd, Ilene Isle of Minneapolis, Dorolese (Larry) Collette of Brainerd and Karen (Vernon) Liebold of Little Falls; and brother Jerome (Lonnie) Callahan of Osteen, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, infant son and sisters Jackolyn Dillon and Deloros Neumann.
