BEMIDJI — Second Harvest Heartland will be hosting a Farm Bill listening session from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the Bemidji Public Library, so stakeholders and members of the public in Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District can share their experiences and insights with federal lawmakers.

The Farm Bill, which will be negotiated during the 2023 legislative session, will lay out funding and requirements for federal programs related to agriculture, environment and nutrition. As such, it has the potential to address food insecurity across the nation, a release said.

This will be one of similar listening sessions hosted by Second Harvest Heartland across Minnesota’s 8th congressional districts in the next month.

While local hunger-relief partners and nutrition program participants have been invited to the discussion, this event is closed to the public.

Other times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
