BEMIDJI — A home in Eckles Township suffered significant damage after a fire broke out Monday evening.
According to a release from the Bemidji Fire Department, at approximately 5 p.m. on Monday, May 9, firefighters responded to the report of a house fire at 8946 Tranquility Lane NW in Eckles Township.
Upon arrival, firefighters entered the single-story home and encountered heat with no visibility. The fire was quickly located and extinguished, the release said.

Firefighters were on the scene for about three hours, with 22 firefighters and eight pieces of equipment. The home and its contents sustained significant damage, the release said.
No injuries are reported. The fire is under investigation and appears suspicious in nature, the release said.
