WALKER — A 10-year-old boy from injuries caused by falling from a tree on Oct. 20, near Walker.
According to a release from Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch, at 3:54 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a medical situation at a residence on Midway Circle in Turtle Lake Township in rural Walker.
Upon arrival, deputies and first responders learned that a 10-year-old juvenile male had fallen from a tree causing injury.
"Medical aid was immediately initiated and the victim was transported by ambulance to a nearby landing zone to intercept a medical helicopter where further life-saving efforts were performed; however, the victim was pronounced deceased," the release said.
Assisting at the scene were Leech Lake Tribal Police, North Memorial Ambulance and Sanford Air Med. The investigation continues with the assistance of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.
