Lisa Chantelle Marie Singleton-Justus, 37, of Cass Lake, died on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, in Bemidji as the result of a car accident.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Cass Lake with Rev. Anselm Thevarkunnel officiating. A visitation will be held from5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Cass Lake and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. A remembrance of her life will follow the service on Friday at the Leech Lake Veteran's Memorial Hall in Cass Lake. A celebration of her life will be held in the spring for disbursement of her ashes.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Singleton, Jacob Chernugal, Bill Buss, Donald Justus, Jeff Krona, Tom "Red" Singleton, Tom Gates, Kenny Weller and Robert Neuman.

She was born on June 22, 1968, to Robert and Patricia (Dennis) Singleton, in Charleston, S.C. She was raised and attended St. Bridget's Elementary and DeLaSalle High School, graduating in 1986 in Minneapolis. She was married to Donald Justus and had two children. They moved to Central Wisconsin in 1995 where she began work in agriculture at Bushman's Llama Farm, later becoming lead herdsman at Buss's Dairy Farm. In 2003, she and her family moved to the Bemidji/Cass Lake area to be closer to family. She returned to school, and graduated in June 2005, Valedictorian and Phi Theta Kappa from Northwest Technical College's Licensed Practical Nursing Program. She was continuing her education to obtain her degree as a Registered Nurse.

While attending school she was also employed with Lutheran Social Services working with developmentally delayed individuals. She recently became employed full-time with the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Health Services as a maternal child health nurse. She enjoyed shopping, bowling, karaoke, card games and family outings.

She is survived by her former husband; children, Halee and Cody; parents; sisters, Melissa (Jacob) Chernugal and Michelle Singleton; brother, Joshua Singleton; a nephew and two nieces; and all of her aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

A Memorial Trust Fund has been established for her children, Halee and Cody Justus, at the First National Bank Bemidji. Memorials may be directed there in the children's name.
