Thank you for your thoughtful editorial in the Jan. 21 issue of the Pioneer. You cited several factors that substantiate the daunting complexity of the U.S. health care system.
Within the Bush administration proposal, there are some appropriate policy proposals and it appears to have some elements with sound logic. Accordingly, it should be carefully studied.
This study should address the points raised in your editorial with appropriate concern for, as you note, "those facilities already hurting from high public assistance use at low reim-bursement rates." Such is the circumstances for North Country Health Services.
