When I was a working girl, I got up early and walked for half an hour. At one time, I had a beautiful Doberman Pinscher, a dog who walked with me.

One morning, he was hit by a car and because I couldn't carry him, I went home to get help. When I came back, he was gone and for three days, I looked for him but didn't find him. Then he came home by himself but he was in terrible shape.

We took him to Dr. Seemann whom we had known for a year or two as a part-time neighbor. My husband and Dr. Seemann played their harmonicas together for a few evenings. We enjoyed him and his wife, Margaret.

Later, when Elof was sick off and on, I visited their home in Bemidji and saw the hospital for animals they have in Bemidji. We saw how well they took care of the animals they took in. They took care of our Doberman, a poor battered dog, and made him well again. We saw the little dog that had lost the use of his two back legs. Dr. Seemann rigged up a harness and wheels so the dog could run around on its own.

I know Dr. Seemann as a kind, gentle man who does what is best for the animals he cares for. It is a loss to the community that his license to practice has been taken from him.
