We are retirees, having moved to Bemidji about five years ago, and have certainly enjoyed getting to know the area. The city of Bemidji offers many cultural and educational opportunities, and the natural beauty is outstanding.
Our home is located on Big Wolf Lake in Frohn Township, so we have had to learn new ordinances and guidelines by which to live. Mike, a city council member in our former residence, had been favorably impressed with township government and the quality of administration.
There is one element present in the township which is a cause for concern. This element is a secret group of people who have ulterior motives for gaining control of the offices of government here. Several days prior to the current election, and one held a year ago, this group sent a letter which electively targeted many voters in Frohn Township anonymously signed, "Concerned Citizens Committee." The hidden agendas of these unidentified individuals are well camouflaged. While we not have been chosen to receive these deceptive missives, we have been told about them by friends and neighbors who were recipients.
Anonymous, according to the World Book Dictionary, is defined as (a) by or from a person whose name is not known or given or (b) figurative, lacking distinctive character, having no features.
We agree wholeheartedly with the second description, lacking distinctive character. Anyone who does not have the courage to reveal their identity, to explain their beliefs, behaves in a cowardly manner that deserves no recognition.

We hope that anyone who has received the letter from "Concerned Citizens" will put it where any anonymous letter belongs -- in the garbage.
