The students of the Bemidji State University Student Association would like to take this opportunity to thank our state legislators for their continuing support.
For most constituents, after midterm elections things begin settling down. The promises made by the candidates are soon put on the backburner until a news story covers the issue in the media. However, we have noticed something different here in Bemidji. It is nothing new here; in fact, it is something we have come to expect and respect from our state legislators: action. From the day they began campaigning to the day they were sworn into office and still today, they have kept their promises supporting the students of Bemidji State University and higher education.
Rep. Frank Moe and Sen. Mary Olson have not once blinked when faced with decisions regarding higher education. The important position they play for us in the Legislature and their active support of higher education at the Capitol is no surprise to us, and we are grateful for it.
From signing onto a tuition freeze bill supporting funding to freeze tuition, to supporting the HEAPR bonding projects, including funding for the Bemidji State University land acquisition, the students of Bemidji State University have noticed and are so appreciative of their ongoing support.
Therefore, we thank you, Rep. Frank Moe and Sen. Mary Olson, for keeping your campaign promises and making higher education a priority.
