Obviously the war in Iraq is the single greatest battle in the war on terror. Keeping that in mind, it only seems that our nation's leaders would want to send only the best, brightest and bravest into the fray. To that end I would like to invoke a Capitol Hill draft.
We need fine men and women to battle these forces of evil, and recruiting numbers have never been worse. Since the government believes so deeply in the cause, it would only seem appropriate that they would be more than willing to begin the draft with their own children. We'll begin with the executive branch, getting Jenna and Barbara enlisted and ready to bring their father's tenacity and devotion to the front lines. Then we'll move on to the Congress.
Surely our nation's leaders would never dedicate their fellow citizens to a war without the conviction that comes from offering up their progeny to the cause. This very special surge will break down the misguided idea that our government does not care for American life. With this newfound solidarity we are sure to have victory close at hand.
