I am reading the Pioneer about demolition of the old school buildings. It says after they are gone, the land will be seeded with grass. Why not build the events center there -- close to the college. They could even build a tunnel under the road to the John Glas arena.
They have talked about the old MarketPlace to keep downtown going and then they decided they didn't like the old downtown and would rather have the green spaces of Nymore to build all these food shops, streets and maybe another hotel plus the events center. There is already a highway access off the bypass past hotels, food shops, gas stations in place for the old high school area, plus this would help keep downtown alive.
