After listening to the "O'Reilly Factor" program of Jan. 9, I am of the opinion that the wrong meaning has been built into the church/state debate. It is not that the foremost Christian religions are trying to take over but that they are battling the tendency of the secular minded to undermine the most important teachings the world has ever known, the covenants for all of us people to live by for a peaceful world. The snide remarks leveled at religion by some columnists are tinged with a very poor sense of taste and humor and lead to less worldly peace that we have now.

Rabbi Radin, in O'Reilly's interview with him, made sense when he stated, "We lived more peaceably when these disagreements were not made an issue of." These covenants have been accepted down through the ages.

We must all work together with no ulterior motives to retain our sanity and peace of mind.
