Bush's war in Iraq can never end with a winner because when people die, no one wins. Bush believes that a troop surge and continued fighting in Iraq will lead to a peaceful end. I am reminded of a quote from a man far wiser than Bush, Albert Einstein, who said, "Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding."
How right he is; when a gun is pointed, no peace will come. We must bring peace into Iraq via education, kindness and understanding. When the war in Iraq was declared, it was not a primary fighting ground for the War on Terror; however, through the missteps and inefficient use of troops attempting to justify a then-unjustifiable war Iraq as become the very center of hate toward America. Bush has made it clear that his view is that the War on Terror must be a physical war.
However, Bush does not understand that a war on hate can never be won by giving people a reason to hate. The War on Terror must be an intellectual war. Our weapons must be kindness, understand and most importantly education! Moreover, the War on Terror needs to be pro-active and global. We must strike first and we must strike unified with our fellow world leaders. Therefore, to simplify it, I will quote another wise man, John Lennon: "All we are saying is give peace a change."
