John "Jack" Austin Pegler, 67, of Laporte, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.
A memorial service will be held later this summer. Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji assisted the family with arrangements.
He was born on Aug. 1, 1939, to Charles and Sarah (Kinney) Pegler, in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Bowling Green, Ohio. He enlisted with the U.S. Army, working with White House communications.
He married Gail Meeks on Jan. 16, 1965, in Gahanna, Ohio. He worked for 35 years with International Marketing for Motorola, retiring in 1998.
He is survived by his wife, of Laporte; daughters, Julie (Jerry) Musial of New York and Jean Pegler of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Sarah "Sally" Mosier of Tupelo, Miss.; three granddaughters; and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Jane Frost.
