After a seven year battle with Lewy-Body Dementia, Jerome St. Clair Dokken, 78, of Bemidji died Monday, March 10, 2008 with his loving wife of 57 years by his side at the Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji, MN.

After a seven year battle with Lewy-Body Dementia, Jerome St. Clair Dokken, 78, of Bemidji died Monday, March 10, 2008 with his loving wife of 57 years by his side at the Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji, MN.

Memorial Services will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Bemidji, MN with Rev. Dean Nelson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji and one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

He was born on September 14, 1929 in Pine Creek, MN the son of Clarence and Christine (Rice) Dokken. He was raised and educated in Pine Creek. He graduated from Roseau High School in 1947. He worked at the Row Lumber Company for a number of years. He married Joan Andol on September 21, 1950 in Badger, MN. He began work for the Minnesota Highway Department (MNDot) in 1956 in Roseau. He worked for the Highway Department for 34 years, including in Crookston, Thief River Falls, and the last 24 years in Bemidji, where he retired in 1990 as a Senior Highway Technician. He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing, gardening, watching wildlife, and walks through the woods. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Dokken of Bemidji, MN; sons, Daniel (Ruth) Dokken of Hines, MN, Gregory (Julie) Dokken of Tenstrike, MN, Mitchell (Laurie) Dokken of Bemidji, MN; daughter, Kelli (Todd) Odegard of Savage, MN; brothers, LuVerne Dokken of Harlingen, Texas, David (Adeline) Dokken of Baudette, MN; grandchildren, Erik (Trisha) Dokken, Andrew Dokken, Megan (Reuben) Morrison, Brett Dokken, Zachary Odegard, Alyssa Dokken, Jennifer Odegard, and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
