The cause of the fire that damaged the Dockside restaurant Saturday night is still under investigation, Wayne Skoe, the fire chief of the Northome Fire Department, said Tuesday afternoon.
Two investigators are looking into cause: one from Itasca County and one from the State Fire Marshal office, he said.
The Northome Fire Department was the primary responding agency and the Kelliher Fire Department was called in for mutual aid. Also responding to the scene was the Itasca County Sheriff's Office.
People were inside the establishment at the time of the fire, but no one was injured, according to Itasca County Sheriff Pat Medure. The owner of the restaurant attempted to put out the fire himself, but was unsuccessful.
The fire was reported just before 10 p.m. Saturday. Skoe said between the Northome and Kelliher fire departments about 25 firefighters were on the scene with five trucks for approximately 4.5 hours.
